The most fun I’ve had writing javascript recently has been working on a vanilla html, css and js pokedex website.
Notes
Short-form thoughts, links, and updates.
My immediate reaction to things like Fashion Pope and more AI noise/meme going viral is to just log off and spend less time online.
Absolutely psychotic AI idea:
Train an LLM on your WhatsApp conversations and ask it stuff like
“What would my best friend want for their birthday?”
Actively manifesting summer

If AI coding is the future, the most valuable skills you can have as a software engineer will be:
- Code Reviewing
- Giving Feedback
- Knowing how to test
Rise and fall is just not gay or camp enough to replace the traitors
extreme dad voice while chuckling to myself:
“So, are we foo-barring or bar-fooing?”
They’ve added like really really long tweets to twitter and it surprised me how just wrong that stuff looked.
The visual rhythm of tweets being “micro” blogs is so key to how my brain groks sites like twitter, by removing that limit it just becomes very similar every other site out there.
Lots of AI stuff is gonna be
-
person A: writes succinct prompt about what they want to generate wall of text
-
person B: uses AI to generate succinct summary of wall of text
I am excited for the phase after where we all just start communicating clearly with each other
TIL checkboxes do not emit change events if not connected to the dom: html.spec.whatwg.org/multipage
You’ve got to find joy in the little things
CORS docs and CSP docs are so impenetrable unless you already have a relatively decent understanding of whats going on.
Really wish i could add MORE stuff to package.jsons:
- Comments describing why a package is at a particular version
- Comment linking to why a resolution exists
- Connect package upgrades to tech debt tickets
Budget tomorrow

As the age and vastness of tech documentation on the web grows, debugging is becoming increasingly like being a grumpy wizard searching through a library of useless outdated scrolls.

If apple brought out a new iPod Classic with AirPods support, Apple Music syncing and absolutely no apps on it I would buy the shit out of that.
“Here for a good time, not a long time” but I actually mean I’ll leave the pub by 9 and in bed by 10
There’s that quote about the point about dashboards isn’t really about looking at them, it’s about proving that the data is easily accessible and aggregatable.
The same is true for component libraries/storybook. It double checks your assumption your components are isolated and movable. Even if no one looks at it it still has value.
It’s like a secret puzzle you have to reveal yourself
So Railway app gives you infinite usage on safari?
